Kum. B. Maggi of Class II has participated a number of National Level Rope Skipping Championship. She represented A.P. State at National Championship, Jodhpur Rajasthan and won Gold Medal. Sri Iqbal Singh, the Governor of Pudichery appreciated her achievements in a special programme conducted in Yanam.
Our Hockey Teams Boys and Girls were both Runners up in the South Zone CBSE Hockey Tournament and were selected for Nationals in U-14 category.
Master Basil of Class IX and Ravi Kumar of Class VIII participated in Inter District Shuttle Badminton Championship and declared as the winner in Under15 years boys double category. Our Badminton Team (boys) participated in South Zone CBSE Shuttle Tournament and won 3rd position.
Mas. Baswant of Class VII brought laurels for our Vidyashram by receiving Rs. 500 /- Cash Prize and Winning Shield in Inter-District Chess Championship. Mas. Goutham Kumar of Class VIII received the 2nd position in Zonal Kungfu and Karate Championship held in Visakhapatnam. In CBSE Cluster-VII Athletic Meet, our students participated in different Athletic Events. Inter-House games and Athletic events were held in the school.
II. Fine Arts (Essay & Creative Writing / Drawing, Debates, Declamation, Quiz etc): a) Essay Writing:Essay Writing is a part of our CCA to exhibit the Literary Skill of students. Our Bhavanites are encouraged to write Essay on different Topics. On the occasion of Fire Prevention Week, the West Godavari Fire Control Dept. has conducted an Essay Competition on the Topic “Prevention is Better than Cure”. Nearly 40 students participated in the Inter School Competition and Kum. I. Vineela of Class X and Mas. Charan of VII bagged the 1st and 3rd positions respectively. Mahatma Gandhi Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Vijayawada has conducted a Zonal Essay Writing Competition where many students participated and Kum Sowparnika of Class VIII bagged the Gold Medal. On the occasion of LIC’s 154th Anniversary an Inter-School Essay writing Competition was held by Bhimavaram LIC Branch in which Kum. Sri Vidya of Class X bagged the 1st position. Master Nivesh of class VI wrote a novel ‘Mirank’ and published the same. The school organized the Book release function.
b) Debate:As a part of CCA the Vidyashram has been conducting a number of Debate Competitions. LIC of Bhimavaram Branch has conducted an Inter School Debate Competition in which Kum. S. Mounica Class X got 2nd position. On the occasion of Ozon Protection Day the School has conducted a Debate Competition on Global Warming, a local issue. Many students participated in this event. On the occasion of World Wetland Day (2nd Feb.), in a major function our students have participated in Inter-school Debate Competition organized by Kolleru Wild Life Sanctuary with collaboration of WWF (World Wild Fund). Mas. Bala Mukesh of VII bagged the 2nd position.(Kolleru is Asia’s largest fresh water lake)
c) Drawing & Painting:On behalf of World Wetland Day a no. of students participated in Drawing Competition on the given theme of save the endangered species. Mas.Thoiba of Class IX and Mas. S.K. Pavan of Class VIII got the 1st and 2nd position respectively. On the occasion of World Peace Day a Drawing Competition was conducted in Zonal level. Mas Thoiba of Class IX and Kum. G. Lakshmi Nandita of Class VIII bagged 1st and 2nd positions respectively. Master Langjimba of Class VIII and Radha Devi of Class X were given the prestigious Awards of Kala Gourav Award and Gold Medals for their best performance in the Fine Arts Competition conducted by Students Development Society, Mumbai. Some of the best paintings done by Mas. Wanglemba of Class VIII, Mas. Shanmukh and Mas. Vineeel of Class IX were published in Hindu on 17th Sept. 2010. In one of the Hindu Young World a whole page covered the paintings of our students. An open group wise Rangoli Competition was held in the school. It was great and colourful.
d) Music and Dance :Music and Dance are the Co-curricular Activities in which students are trained to exhibit their talents in Classical and Folk Music, in different aspects of Folk Dance and Classical Dances. On the occasion of Annamacharya Utsav and Tyagaraj Utsav, our students were invited to participate in Cultural Events conducted by Tyagaraja Aradhana Samiti in ASR Auditorium, Bhimavaram. Besides devotional songs our children presented classical dance-drama Sri Krishna Parijatam which was appreciated by all. A wonderful and aesthetic display of Music and Dance was seen on the occasions of Saradutsavam, inter House Patriotic Song Competition, Inter-House Light Classical (Bhajan) Competition and many other Cultural items conducted form time to time. Smt. Anuradha Krishna Murthy a renowned Singer visited our campus and organized a day long Music Workshop (Lec-dem) among the students. The school has started ‘Kala Bharati’ for students to receive advance training in music and dance after school.
ANNUAL DAY – Cultural Program :A soul filling aesthetic display of dance-drama-mime and music was witnessed on the Annual Day. Besides dance items by I,II, III, Group song, dance and enactment of a moral story by IV & V, folk dance and folk song by VI, VII and VIII students, a thought provoking mime on ‘development of modern and most lethal war machine on the one hand and inability of man to provide food to millions of humankind’ was the highlight presented by class IX. A spectacular presentation of community song by 120 students of IX & X on stage gave a wonderful start to the program. The Annual Day ended with classical dance-drama of Sri Krishna Tulabharam which transported audience into the world of mythology and made everyone wonder at the capacity of children and school to present such a classical item. Over 450 students participated in the Annual Day Cultural Program.
III. NTSE, NSTSE, NTSS, National Science and Maths Olympiad, National Cyber Olympiad and other Examinations science is an evaluator for this prestigious Test.a) Kum J. Anusha of Class VIII received the Silver Medal in National JIM CORBET Essay Writing Competition.
b) Kum. Swetha Suman of Class X bagged the 2nd position and Cash Award of Rs. 500/- and Mas. Karoba of Class X got 6th position with Rs. 100/- cash prize in All India General Knowledge Test conducted by United Schools Organisation, New Delhi in the Senior Category. In Junior level Mas. Charan of Class VII bagged 6th position and Rs. 100/- cash prize. Dr. Ganeswar Mahapatra, HOD-Social science is an evaluator for this prestigious Test.
c) 67 students participated in International Informatics Olympiad – 2010 and received Participation Certificate.
d) 22 students participated in Pi-Omega Video Conference and discussed with Atul Nischal regarding the Mathematics.
e) 75 students appeared for ASSET – 2010 Test in Mathematics and Science.
f) Mas. Punith Kumar of Class X received Silver Medal in Maths Olympiad conducted by Royal Society of Science, Hyderabad.
g) Sheenthoi of Class VII and Souparnika of VIII stood first and won Gold Medals in Mahatma Gandhi Rashtra Bhasha Talent Test, Pune in which 86 students of Vidyashram enrolled their names for the Talent Test.
IV. Best Teacher Award / Best School / Best student and other Awards of reputed National and International recognized Bodies.The School was declared as among best 20 Green schools of the country and awarded Gobar Times Green School certificate by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), Delhi.
V. Scholarship awarded by reputed recognized bodies.Master Rishab Agarwal of class X received Pranahalal Devkaran Nanji Award by Shikshan Bharati for harmonious behavior. The school instituted Chairman’s Award for best all-rounder in the school.
VI. Presentation of papers / science Exhibition / Project / Seminars / Workshops (NCRT / NCERT / CBSE / SCERT / SB) / Participation in NIC.Mr. G.S. Negi, Principal presented his views on heritage education and on CCE in curriculum Committee of CBSE. He also guided the Social Science Committee of CBSE as convener. Mr. G. Mahapatra and Mr. Veerendranadh presented papers on Education in a seminar of Bhavan’s Teachers.
Science and Heritage Exhibition:i) The Annual Exhibition : On the occasion of the Annual Day there was a massive display of creative works of children from LKG to X. The works were displayed under the sections of Pre Primary, Primary, English, Maths, Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, Science, Social Science, Art & Craft. Live projects in Science & Social Science, good models, enactments of small scene from Merchant of venice, Recitation of Geetnajali by children in English department and recitation of classical poems in Telugu departments were highly appreciated. In all over 350 children participated in the Annual Exhibition.
ii) The Vidyashram inaugurated the Young Scientist Cell in the name of Swami Jnanananda, an eminent Sanyasi and Nuclear Physicist who started the department of Nuclear Physics in Andhra University. Dr. Rama Raju, a reputed Cardiologist of USA and the Trustee Member of Jnanananda Trust graced the occasion of Chief Guest. He admired the models and projects prepared by the students.
iii) Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan stands for India’s Heritage. A number of programmes were conducted and an Exhibition was organized to display the vibrant Heritage of the country. As a part of CCRT program lectures on cultural heritage were organized.
iv) Vidyashram has opened the Heritage Club for its students under aegis of INTAC (Indian National Trust for Arts & Cultural Heritage). The School is in close touch with Mrs. Poornima Datt, Director Young INTAC. Children have adopted a nearby monument and are helping in its preservation. The School has organized Heritage walk of nearby temples.
VII. Organization of Training Programmes / Workshops.1) To upgrade the Teaching Learning-process and enhance the knowledge of Teachers our Vidyashram has conducted a 5 days Orientation Porgrammes from 6th June to 10th June 2010. The Teaching faculty of Bhavan’s Bhimavaram, Tadepalligudem, Palakol and Guntur and Rajahmundry Schools attended the programme. Resource Persons like Sri G. Balasubrahmaniam, Former Director of CBSE, Dr. K. Subba Raju, Prof. of Chemistry, SRKR Engineering College, Prof. Mohan Raj from EFLU, Smt. Rama Devi, Principal of Ashram Public School, Kakinada, Sri T. Hanuman Choudhary, Former Vice-chairman – Bhavan’s Hyderabad Kendra and IT consultant to Government of Andhra Pradesh were invited to conduct the programme. The 5 days programme covered the following topics.
a) CCE – Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation and its effective implementation.. b) Trends in Education the World over. c) Child Psychology and education of slow learner and of children with LD. d) Effective Teaching by incorporating multiple intelligence in Lesson Plan. e) Classroom Management f) Value Education and g) Communication Skills and Personality Development.
2) Principal G.S. Negi participated in an International Principal’s Conference held in New Delhi on innovations and best practices in evaluation system
3) Smt . T.J. Devi Padma and Smt. K. Aruna form English Department have attended the Training Programme on Effective Communication held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Guntur.
4) Vidyashram conducted Teacher Training for English Teachers in collaboration with Oxford University Press. Smt Sudha Ravi, Teacher Trainer from New Delhi conducted the Workshop. 12 CBSE School Teachers attend the Workshop. Another workshop in English ws conducted in collaboration with Orient Black Swan.
5) Smt Zehra Mehdi a Teacher Trainer from Bhavan’s School Hyderabad was invited as visiting faculty for 30 days to improve the Teaching-Learning Process and guide the Primary and Pre-primary Teachers.
6) Mrs. Sharada, an Educational Consultant who hails from Bangalore has conducted a Workshop on Value Education and multiple intelligence.
7) Sri V.S.N. Raju, the Ex. Education Officer of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Southern Range has conducted a Workshop on ‘Effective Teaching of Mathematics’ for the faculty members of Maths Dept.
8) Prof. K. Subba Raju, HOD-Chemistry, SRKR Engineering College has conducted a Personality Development Programme for the Staff Members.
9) A number of Faculty Development Programmes under Teachers’ centre and the guidance of Sri G.S. Negi, Principal have been conducted from time to time to improve the teaching methodology and communication effectiveness of Teachers..
VIII. NCC – Scout & Guide and Adventure Sports.NCC Activities: The Vidyashram has inducted its VIII and IX Class students in National Cadet Corps (NCC) 19 Andhra Battalion (19(A) B) Junior Division (JD Wing), both for girls and boys in the year 2002. Since then, our NCC Cadets have been participating in NCC camps various Community Service, Peace Rally and awareness programmes such as No to plastic, No to crackers and other health related issues in the town. The participation of our NCC students in Traffic Control (4th Feb., 2010), Vanamahotsav (7th November, on Bhavan’s Foundation Day), Pulse Polio immunization, extending their helping hands to needy people were commended by public and covered by press. For the academic year 2010-2011, 46 boys and 28 girls were enrolled for NCC. Our NCC cadets, both girls and boys participated in Independence Day and Republic Day Parade and gave Guard of Honour to the Chief Guest during School function. Under the guidance of NCC, A.N.O. Mr. M.H.S. Shekhar Kumar the cadets attended a 10 day Annual Training Camp (ATC) held at Nuzividu in the month of Sep., 2010. It was a rich experience for our cadets. By attending this camp, they were able to learn the sense of responsibility to maintain discipline and to build up self confidence. The camp organized various activities and our Bhavanites excelled by winning 10 medals in Rifle-Shooting, Elocution, drill, Dance and debate competitions. NCC Cadets on special occasions effectively help school in maintenance of discipline and voluntary works.
Adventure Training Camp: From 07-04-2011 to 10-04-2011 – A four day Adventure Training Camp was conducted with the help of Altitudes Expeditions Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi a leading adventure Training Organization in the country. Our Principal Mr. G.S. Negi made it possible to have this organization do the programme in our Vidyashram also. Classes IV to X children were exposed to a number of Adventure Activities. Activities offered were descending / Rappelling, Trust Fall, Jumaring, Rope Courses like Twine, Net, Climbing, Bamboo Bridge, Swing Ladder, Tyrolean Traverse, Flying Fox, Burma Bridge etc. It is proposed to make it an Annual feature of the school. These activities focused on overcoming fear of fall or a failure and taking initiative.It brought out strong positive values of courage, trust and responsibility. It emphasized the importance of hard work in day to day life. Team building and cooperation were high lights of Raft making and River (Swimming pool) crossing competition.
IX. Community / Social Awareness:A) 6th August 2010– On the occasion of World Peace Day, NCC cadets and Bhavanites from Class VI to X marched in a rally. After the assembly the students were taken by bus till Bus stand and from there the rally started. Sri P. Ramanjaneyulu (Anji Babu), MLA, Bhimavaram Constituency flagged off the Rally and addressed the students on importance of peace and communal harmony in society and world over. He said the defense against violence is to be created in the mind first. Students paid homage and observed silence for the victims of war. He appreciated the contribution of Bhavan’s Vidyashram towards the creation of Public Awareness. Students marched till Ananda Function Hall after forming a Human Chain at Praksham Chowk. The press extensively covered the program.
B) Our KG students visited the Old Age Home run by Swami Jnanananda Trust. They interacted with the inmates.
C) As a part of Club activities the Vidyashram has an Eco-club. The members of Eco Club are doing their best to create awareness for Environment. The Vidyashram is declared as no plastic Zone. We are conducting various Social Awareness programmes like Vanamahotsava, Ozon Protection Day, Wild Life Day. This year (2011) we are celebrating International Year of Forests.
D) On the occasion of Vidyashram’s Foundation Day, our beloved Chairman Sri Ch. Sriranganadha Raju inaugurated the plantation programme(Vanamahotsav) by planting a sapling in the campus.
E) The Centre for Environment, New Delhi Awarded our Vidyashram with Green School Certificate award with School scoring 70% above grade. This Certificate of Appreciation was possible due to the lush green and Eco-friendly environment maintained by the School.
F) The school has expanded the area of the Club activities by adding new clubs such as Heritage Club, Eco Club, Chess Club, Quiz Club, Gardening Club, Library Club and UNESCO Club. Other clubs such as Literary, Debate, Art and Craft etc. were already there. Clubs meet on Saturdays.
X. Students / Teachers Exchange Programme:Outreach program : In order to reach out to the people in our neighborhood and extend a helping hand, we conducted 10 days Workshops during summer vacation on Communicative English, creative Writing and Personality Development in the surrounding Towns like Akiveedu, Palakol and Bhimavaram. As a part of exchange programme Mrs. D. Sujatha, Vice Principal, Mrs. Indira, Academic Co-ordinator of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Tirupati Kendra paid visit to our Vidyashram, they interacted with the Principal and Teachers and shared their ideas. Our Teachers went to Palakol and Tadepalligudem to exchange ideas and to interact with teachers.
XI. Innovative Practices and Experiments in Education.a) Opening of Swami Jnanananda Centre for Science to encourage students to do project work and higher level experiments in Science, as a part of Enrichment Programme for the above average and gifted students.
b) Remedial coaching for the slow achievers and for children with learning disability.
c) Multi-Media Teaching learning process through Smart Class.
d) Spoken English Classes through Audio Visual Aids (Smart Class based language Lab).
e) The Vidyashram in collaboration with Trinity college, London (through Orient Black Swan International Pvt. Ltd) has been conducting Graded Examinations in Spoken English and making the students to express their ideas, thoughts, opinions with clarity and promptness.
f) Teacher Centre: The School has started a Teachers Centre. HODs known as Academic council, form the core group of teachers Centre who, plan and execute the workshop and lectures for staff development. The Teacher Centre i) Up dated teachers with latest changes brought in syllabus, question paper pattern, evaluation system and other curricular areas such as physical and Health Education, Adolescent Education Programme, Inclusive education, and safety measures in school. ii) Collected valuable information from internet and books on innovative educational practices and made these available to Teachers. iii) Organized an after School two weeks programme on improving English grammar and communication for teachers of Primary and middle school. iv) In collaboration with Oxford University Press and Orient Blackswan conducted two Workshops on teaching of English for teachers of 5 Bhavan’s Schools of Coastal Andhra and other CBSE schools. v) Organized in-house Workshops on a) Teaching of Mathematics at Primary level. b) Effective use of Library as a resource. c) NIE (News Paper in Education) & its effectiveness. d) Story – Telling as a method of Creative Teaching e) Formative Assessment and Formative Teaching. f) School climate and its effectiveness v) HODs have been organizing their weekly review and planning meetings in Teachers Centre and utilizing its resources.
g) News paper in Education Programme (NIE)The School has introduced News Paper in Education (NIE) programme from this year in collaboration with the prestigious News Paper The Hindu. The Programme is already running in good Schools in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. For the first time the Hindu has reached out to a school in rural based small town. Under the Programme a child will get a copy of ‘The Hindu’ News Paper every day at only One Rupee Cost (actual cost Rs. 2 /-). English and Social Science Teachers will base some of their assignments on The Newspaper articles and stories. Every fortnight G.K. Test will be held on the basis of Newspaper. Reading of The Hindu NIE Programme is compulsory for VI to IX class students.
h) Infrastructural Development :i) Management up graded its Senior Computer Lab by providing 35 new Computers. ii) Rs. 2 Lakhs were spent in purchase of library books, strengthening all sections of the library. iii) CD Library was added. iv) School library has started a new initiative by developing Documentation files on various issues, themes and personalities of national and international importance for ready reference of students.. It has also started documenting the supplements brought out by The Hindu. Total number of books has crossed 10000. v) The library has added new magazines such as Children’s’ World (CBT), Caravan, Vogue, Readers Digest, Vedantkesari, Mentor and Gobar Times. In all, the library subscribes for five periodicals and six Newspapers. vi) Library centered activities – such as book review competition, book mark and book cover design making competition have been started.
XII. Organisation of curricular and co-curricular Activities at School level.a) Curricular areas :
i) To draw the hidden talents, we are conducting and participating in various competitive examinations like NSTSE 2011 organised by Unified Council, The quest Inter School Quiz Competition 2009-2010, All-India General Knowledge Test, G.K. Test of USO, Hindi literary Competition, Hindu Young World Quiz, News Paper in Education etc.
ii) The Vidyashram has been organising Geeta Chanting Competitions on regular basis with the collaboration of Chinmaya Mission. The students from III to X Class are participating in Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior groups.
iii) We have orgnaised a book Exhibition in Collaboration with Rama Krishna Mission, Rajahmundry Zone.
iv) The staff members of our Vidyashram are encouraged to attend different workshops, seminars, symposiums conducted and organized by reputed institutions form time to time.
v) To improve the professional skill and teaching ability with innovative ideas, the Vidyasrham is conducting staff Orientation Programme and Staff Development Programmes at regular intervals.
vi) In addition to regular teaching diagnostics testing has helped us to know fundamental weakness of children. We plan special remedial classes for such children. Under enrichment programme numbers of tests are given to children. As part of CCE children are encourage to participate in Quiz, Symposium, Group Discussion and Project Oriented Presentations.
vii) The School has expanded the area of Club activities and new clubs such as Heritage Club, Eco-club, Quiz Club, Chess Club, Gardening Club, Library Club and UNESCO Club have been added. Other Clubs such as Literary, Debate, Art & Craft etc were already there. Clubs meet on Saturdays.
b) Co-curricular areas:
i) It is mandatory for our Bhavanites to participate in different co-curricular activities as two periods in a week are allotted for CCA.
ii) House-wise competitions, Intra-mural Games, Inter-House Cultural Meet, presentation of House-wise Assembly proceedings, Celebration of different days of National, Religious and local importance are the basic features of our co-curricular activities. These are conducted at Intra & Inter House and Intra and Inter section level of the classes.
iii) Morning prayer (Arunachal) evening prayer (Asthachal) Sunday special prayer, celebration of different Religious, National and International important events are feathers in the cap of our co-curricular activities.
c) Sports :
i) A sound mind lies in a Sound Body. We are leaving no stone unturned to improve the physical standard of Bhavanites. The Vidyashram is well equipped with modern facilities of Sports and games. We have World class well equipped Indoor stadium, Swimming Pool, Skating Rink, Basket Ball, Net ball, Volley Ball, Shuttle Courts, Horse – Riding with Four Horses and a beautiful pony for small children. Foot Ball and Hockey courts. Maximum utilization of the above mentioned areas by the students is given top priority.
ii) The Vidyashram’s U-14 category boys and girls Hockey team, participated in CBSE South Zone Hockey Championship. The boys and girls teams won runners up position and were selected to participate at National level.
iii) The students of Vidyashram are divided into different Houses. The senior classes VI to XI were introduced in the houses like Valmiki, Vasistha, Viswamitra and Vyasa at primary level, we have 3 houses named as Satyam, Shivam and sundaram. The Dept. of physical Education has been conducting Intra-Mural games and Sports by allowing the students to participate in different Sports activities. The House which receives highest points in the Sports, Games and Athletic events will be declared winner with rolling shield during the Annual Sports Meet
iv) Part time coaches for Horse-riding, Swimming, Karate, Skating, Volleyball and Basket ball were conducted to provide intensive coaching to the students to learn different skills and techniques of the particular events.
d) Yoga :
Our Vidyashram has been organizing Indian system of physical and mental exercises like Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation to make the mind, body and soul alert and active. In our culture course classes we have been explaining the significance values and conceptual frame work of yoga system. Our PET takes regular classes in Yoga for boys and girls separately.
e) Musical and Dance :
i) In the area of Music and Dance, the contribution of Bhavanites is praise-worthy. As a regular feature, the Vidyashram is conducting Inter House Cultural meet where the items like invocation, classical and folk dance, drama, mime, one-act play instrumental Music etc are presented by the students.
ii) Music and Dance is compulsory for the students up to Std V and optional from VI to X. Now-a-days, students are learning different techniques of Dance and Music through Smart Class.
iii) The Vidyashram celebrated Saradotsavam (Inter House), the festival of Music and Dance in Ananda Function Hall, Bhimavaram and participated in a Cultural Meet arranged in Tyagaraju Bhavan, Bhimavaram on the occasion of local festivals.
iv) Dr. Ghajal Srinivas, a holder of Guinness Book of World Records and Former Staff Member of our Vidyashram is visiting the campus in a regular interval and guiding the students and the staff to uphold the Bhavan’s Culture and to and encourages to students.
f)Other CCA Activities:
On special occasions like Major Festivals, Birthdays of great Saints and Scientists, Martyrs’ Day, Gandhi Jayanthi, Childrens’ Day, Teachers’ Day, Earth Day, Human Rights Day, Mothers’ Day were observed during morning assembly. In this regard, the students and teachers present suitable informative and motivating programme.
1. Parent Education Programme – The School has taken a new initiative by introducing Parents Education Programme under project ‘Know your child better’. Three parents Awareness Meeting were organized at Pre-Primary, Primary and Senior School level separately. All the meetings were addressed by eminent Doctors, Psychologists and Nutrition Experts, highlighting the milestones of growth and care to be taken by parents. They were given literature on Nutrition. It was appreciated by all parents.
2. Kala Bharati : The school has started Kala Bharati for advance training in Dance & Music after school. A special trainings were given for Mime and Community Song which were presented in school Annual Day and were appreciated by the Audience.
3. IIT Foundation Course :The school has introduced IIT, JEE and EAMCET foundation course for classes VIII to X and extensive coaching for classes XI & XII from this year. Experienced faculty in Maths, Physics and Chemistry have been appointed to impart coaching. Under the scheme in the form of extended syllabus the school covers the part of courses of state and ICSE which are not in CBSE syllabus especially Maths and Science.
4. Educational Tours & Excursion : The school organized a major Educational Tour to Jagannath Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar. 80 students and 6 staff members visited the various sites such as famous temples, Jain caves and Buddhist Stupas. Local Educational Excursion were also introduced.
5. Publications : The school restarted its Annual magazine from this year and brought out the new issue after a gap of almost 10 years. It has also brought out a News Letter of 16 pages. The school also released a Novel “Mirank” written by Master Nivesh of class VI. The creative genius of the child was widely appreciated by press and people.
6. Reader’s Club : In collaboration with scholastic India and also the Book Tractor, school has started a Readers club under which students subscribe for the books of their choice out of a good list of options and the school makes it available to them from scholastic India & the Book Tractor. Best Reader Award to individual and the Best reading class awards have been instituted. The scheme has made us overcome the limitation presented by a small town location. NIE(News papers In Education) has also helped us to overcome this limitation.
7. Bhavanites Association : Bhavanites(old students) Association was inaugurated by our Chairman Sri Ch. Sriranganadha Raju on 15th August 2010. The Association has donated and installed music system to the school hostel and dinning hall. It proposes to raise a corpus fund of about 15 lakhs, the interest of which will be used for merit-cum-means scholarship. Career guidance program has been initiated in school with lectures being organized in collaboration with Bhavanites association.
8. Health Check up and Awareness : The school organized a Dental Check up and Health Awareness camp with the help of Vishnu Dental College and some Doctors from Bhavanites Association. The school organized special sessions on growing up issues for middle class girls and their mothers. Adolcent children have counseling sessions with senior teachers and house masters in the hostel
